O.M.Sc., 1 :
Candidates for the Degree of Master of Science Examination must have obtained. (1) The B.Sc. (Sp.) Degree of this University of a degree recognized as
equivalent thereto; and must have passed the M.Sc. Degree examination in two compartments, first called the M.Sc. Part I Examination and the second after keeping as per requirements laid down in that behalf terms which shall be two for the part I examination and two for the Part II examination.
O.M.Sc.,
2 :
A candidate who not secured at least 36 percent of the marks separately in each paper and (b) practical and (c) viva voce7 if any at that tests held at the end of each terms by the University Department and post graduate centers in their respective subject shall not be permitted to appear at the said examination.
Provided further that the application for admission to the respective examination shall be withdrawn by the
Director of the University school converted, by the professor in - charge of the post-graduate center concerned, or by the principal of the college concerned, or the Head of the Institute concerned as the case may be.
This rule will apply only to the candidates in the faculties of Home Science.
Reg.M.Sc. 1 :
No Candidates for the M.Sc. Degree Examination can select a suit than the one offered by him as a special subject at the B.Sc. (Sp.) Examination as a Principal subject as the B.Sc. Degree Examination, provided, However, candidate who has passed in second or First Class will be considered eligible admission to M.Sc. degree Course in any Subject, provided further that a candidate passing B.Sc. with Microbiology as a principal or special subject will be allowed to offer botany or
zoology at M.Sc. Course.
A Student must have obtained at least second in B.Sc. in any of the following subjects at Principal or subsidiary level :
(a) Home Science
Reg.M.Sc.2 :
The M.Sc. Degree may be taken by written examination and practical (if any) of partly by papers and partly by practicals (if any) and dissertation.
Reg.M.Sc.3 :
The syllabus will comprise the following subjects :
Student will be required to select one of the following
(1) Home Science
The Syllabus of these subjects are not printed.
R.M.Sc. 7 :
Standard of Passing for M.Sc. Degree Examination
To Pass the M.Sc. Degree Examination, a candidate shall be required to obtain at least 36% of the marks s se(arately each in (a) each paper, and (b) Practical, if any, and (c) viva-voce examinations, if any at the M.Sc., Part II Examination.
A Successful candidate obtaining 70% or more mark award of classes shall be under of the total marks in part I & Part II Examinations taken together will be placed in First Class with Distinction.
A Successful candidate obtaining 60% or more marks but less than 70%
of the total marks in Part I & Part II Examinations taken together will be placed in First Class.
A Successful Candidate obtaining 48% or more marks but less than 60% of the total marks in Part I & Part II Examinations taken together will be placed in second class.
Remaining candidates passing the examinations will be placed in pass class.
Proviso 1 (for new course candidate only) :
The candidate who appear with a change in the branch or group under O.M.Sc.2 (a) and pass the M.Sc., Part II Examination under the new Course will also be awarded class in the above manner. The marks obtained by such a candidate at the M.Sc. I Examination passed previously will be carried forwarded this purpose.
Proviso 2 (for new Course Candidate only) :
Provided that a candidate who having passed the M.Sc. Part II (Degree) Examination in the subject other than Mathematics in one branch of group of subjects appear in another branch or group under the provisions of
O.M.Sc.2(a) shall be awarded class on their passing M.Sc. Part II Examination on the basis of marks obtained in the thereat.

:
Duration for Practical Exam – 6 hrs.
HSG. 101/102 are common subject for both.
Dissertation work – Total 200 marks.
From 200 Marks
Internal
Dissertation Seminar – 25 Marks.
External
Dissertation Thesis – 150 Marks
Viva Voice – 25 Marks.
Dissertation work is total practical work..
