Course Content :
Unit-I
Concept of Communication meaning, nature and importance of
communication, types of communication & social change. Communication Process Elements of communication process and their relative importance, psychological basis of communication, perception and learning.
Different Models of Communication their relative importance.
Unit-II
Factors influencing the communication process. Factors affecting Fidelity barriers of communication. Social, cultural & psychological media of communication, mass, group, traditional and interpersonal their role, function, advantages & limitations. The growing popularity of mass media of communication, Indian Institute of mass communication, recent trend in communication media.
Unit-III
Computers & I.T. Introduction to theoretical concepts, Applications in the field of Home Science.
Unit-IV
Windows base programme Word, Excel, PowerPoint and FoxPro.
Unit-V
Internet and its applications accessing web sides, use of the Internet to access and discriminate information.
