Rules of Project Competition

  1. Separate competition for students of MCA / MSc (Master degree) and BE/BCA (Bachelor degree)
  2. One group of  two students from one institute can take part in project presentation competition.
  3. project documentation  will be received latest by February 10,2007.
  4. 10 projects each will be short listed, received from students of  Master degree and Bachelor degree.
  5. Students will be informed about short listed projects latest by February 10,2007 .
  6. There will be two parallel tracks : Master degree & Bachelor degree using power point presentation.
  7. 30 minutes per presentation. Total 5 hours full day program on 17th February and four judges per track.

    Rules of Quiz Competition

    1. contest will have three to four rounds depending on availibility of time.That will include a direct question, buzzer and rapid fire rounds.
    2. Contest questions will be based on topics NOT IN THE SYLLABUS.
      General knowledge about computers and related issues is good enough.
    3. Other details will be made available only before the contest.
    4. If we have more than 3 entries, we have a preliminary WRITTEN round before the final contest where we have three teams to play.

     

Rules of Debate Competition

  1. Each candidate is allowed to speak maximum 4 minutes.
  2. It is expected that student presents her/his views about the Information Technology scenario in 2020, how that scenario will be achieved from current IT scenario (path from 2007 to 2020), social impact of changes in IT and India's position in global IT world in 2020. Student should justify his/her views. Student can use facts and figures predicted by authenticate IT bodies for future IT growth to support their views and opinions.
  3. Question/answer time is 1 minute after talk.
  4. Evaluation is done by multiple judges based on,
    o How topic is introduced
    o Flow of presentation, Content of presentation, Way of presentation
    o Language and content clarity, confidence
    o Justification to views expressed
    o How talk is summarized
    o Response to questions
  5. Any other detail, if required, will be announced before start of competition.

Rules of Programming Competition

C Programming Contest Rules and Procedure

  1. The Programming Contest consists of a collection of 2 to 3 problems to be solved within 5 hours.
  2. At a time only one program will be given.
  3. Participants can use help from printed resource materials, such as books, manuals and online help of compiler.
  4. The programming language of the contest is C. The operating system is Windows Xp. The compiler available is Turbo C.
  5. Each team can use only a single computer.
  6. Technical Support (Staff) will be available during the contest.

Discipline :

1. Contestants must not talk to anyone except members of their team and technical support staff.
2. Any system problems that may occur must be communicated to the support staff.
3. Any irregular behavior of a contestant that jeopardizes the contest, according to the Programming Competition Chair criteria, may cause the team to be disqualified.

Scoring :

1. 20% weightage for the number of problems correctly solved. Under following cases a solution will be considered incorrect:

-> The program cannot be compiled correctly;
->A runtime error occurs;
->The program provides an incorrect answer;
->The output format differs from the one specified in the statement of the problem.

2. 20% weightage for the total time taken to solve all programs.
The total time is the sum of the times consumed for each problem correctly solved. The time consumed for a solved problem is the time elapsed from the beginning of the contest to the submission of the accepted run plus 10 PENALTY minutes for every rejected run for that problem regardless of submittal time.

3. 30% weightage for the style of coding used.

4. 30% weightage for the logic used in the program.

5. If case of a tie, teams who have obtained their solutions in less total time will be better ranked.

The Programming Contest Judging Committee is responsible for deciding the correctness of the solutions presented for each problem.

Decision of Programming Competition Chair and the Judging Committee will be considered final.
