The
Western Region Students’ Convention & Competition
(WRSCC-2007) of CSI aims to
bring out and share innovative ideas in the software
engineering and testing technologies. The goal of
convention is to bring together academicians, students
and industrial experts under a single roof. This WRSCC-2007
is a major event for CSI and this year it is being
organized by H.N.G. University, PATAN.
There is a gap between software engineering practice and education. The major reasons include practitioners developing software under highly demanding economic constraints, lack of case studies which could be shared with academia, poor adoption of problem-based learning (PBL) model and students’ inability to apply knowledge in new situations. This convention aims to discuss and debate the above issues with software engineering specialists sharing their rich and varied experiences of novel methodologies, tools and research activities among the students and faculty community.
The convention includes many students’ related events e.g. presentation/ demonstration of innovative project work, and programming contests in addition to debate and quiz competitions. It will also have tutorials for students on aspects of Requirements Engg., Software Estimation, Architectures & Design, Software Inspection, Verification & Validation by eminent professionals and authors.
