Computer Department, H. Gujarat University had organized One day seminar on Supercomputing and CSI Student Branch Opening. There are mainly two big events handled in this function.
The "Computer Society of India" is a professional body where computer professionals meet to exchange views and information, to learn and share ideas. The wide spectrum of members is committed to the advancement of the theory and practice of Computer Engineering and Technology System, Science and Engineering, Information Processing and related Arts and Sciences. CSI is the oldest and largest organization of IT professionals in India having 21,000 members and 61 chapters and more than 100 students Branches across the country exclusively focusing on the interest of the IT Professionals.
The Computer department of the Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University has extended its academic activity to open CSI students Branch namely "Computer Department HNG University CSI- Student's Branch" with 106 student members, this year. The opening of the students branch was on 8th January 2005, with support of the Ahmedabad CSI- Chapter.
The Computer Department of the Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University has taken opportunity to extend the CSI Students Branch Opening with the gracious presence of the Honorable V. Rajaraman, a pioneer in Computer Science Education and Research in India. He has presented a very informative seminar on “Supercomputing” and one “Meet to the Author” programme in which students had their communication with their favorite author.
One day programme included Spot Registration, Breakfast, Inauguration Function, Lunch, Tea Break and Meet the Author programme.
Approximately Seven Hundred people participated in the event. That included 25 distinguished Guests/academia from other universities, 24 Officers, Department Heads and E.C. Members of H.N.G.U., 25 other guests(Academia and Non Academia), 106 CSI Registered Students and 328 Non CSI students. Education Minister Smt. Anandiben Patel, Honorable V. Rajaraman, CSI-India Hon. Treasurer Prof. B. V. Mehta, Vice Chancellor of H.N.G.U. Dr. M.M. Patel and Registrar of H.N.G.U. Shree B.N. shah.
