5ST07 Structure-V

Objective:

To impart the knowledge and understanding of design of R.C.C. and Steel elements. The course also aims at giving the awareness to the students about the different methods of design.

Steel Design:

Concrete as a material history

Design theories

Singly reinforced sections

Doubly reinforced sections

One-way slabs

Two-way slabs

Tee-and L- beams

Design of section for shear column design

Importance of bond in design development length

Footing design.

Design of tension member, compression member and member in bending, Design of foundation.

Design of industrial structure, which includes, truss and columns with bending. Design should be presented in A4 size paper with complete details.

Evaluation:

Internal 60 %

    (Class assignments/tutorials, Class attendance, Tests, quiz, Class interactions, and any laboratory work if
    required etc.)

Final 40 %

    (Exam, Jury, Term Paper etc.)
